Swab, international gallery of emerging art

The fair will be held for the first time in Fira de Barcelona

After two editions in Reials Drassanes, the International Contemporary Art Fair of Barcelona, Swab, is taking place for the first time in Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc exhibition centre. From the 13th to the 16th of May, it will showcase the best collections of 32 emerging galleries from around the world.

The participants, previously selected by a committee of experts, come from France, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Argentina, Cuba, United States and Denmark, as well as Spain.

The exhibited disciplines include sculpture, painting, drawing and video by young but internationally established artists, with prices ranging from 150 to 60,000 euros.

Swab is organised by Barcelona Diezy7 with the support of the gallery owners: Leo Koening, Fred Mann and Marta Moriarty. The aim of the fair is to bring young people into contact with the world of collecting, taking art onto the streets with activities in different spaces, such as the Palau de la Virreina and Plaza de Sant Felip Neri.
