Sónar, the purest form of music and multimedia art
With performances by top class artists and emerging DJs
The Gran Via exhibition centre is one of the settings of Sónar, one of the world's biggest electronic music and multimedia art festival, which is being held from the 17th to the 19th of June.
It is hosting night time activities with concerts by major stars, such as Chemical Brothers, Roxy Music, Jónsi Dizzee Rascal, Mathew Herbert's, One Club and Fuck Brettons and new talents on the local, national and European scenes.
In addition to the musical performances, Sónar's artistic proposals can be seen in the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona (CCCB) and the Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Barcelona (MACBA). Films will be screened and works of multimedia art and experimental technologies will be exhibited.
The last edition in Barcelona attracted over 75,000 people. In 2010, the festival is being held simultaneously in A Coruña, coinciding with the Xacobeo Year.
